September 2007 Alternative Demonstration Plans Available for Review

Welcome to the Fernbank Community Design Plan (“CDP”) informational web site. Throughout the Fernbank CDP process this web site is intended to serve as an information resource for developers and their agents as well as municipal, provincial and federal bodies and agencies, community and environmental groups and residents.

All participants and stakeholders in this process are encouraged to check this web site frequently for current information on land use planning and environmental assessment matters, including news updates and public consultation notices. It is our hope that this site will provide an excellent opportunity for the residents of the City of Ottawa, including rural residents and the immediate surrounding communities of Kanata South, Stittsville and Kanata West, to contribute to a collaborative community design process and to forge partnerships with the City of Ottawa and area landowners.

The Fernbank Community study area is proposed to encompass approximately 650 hectares (1,600 acres) of land between the established communities of Stittsville, Kanata West and Kanata South, extending south to Fernbank Road, within the West Urban Area of the City of Ottawa. [map shown below]
